Find Common Ground — Fine Acts

The illustration was created in collaboration with Fineacts for the
#BridgingAndBelonging project.

The creative studio for social impact has explored the question of what kind of world we want to live in. In search of answers, they teamed up with the Democracy & Belonging Forum, an initiative of the @otheringandbelonging Institute at the University of California, Berkeley. As a result, the #BridgingAndBelonging project was launched. Various artists around the world were commissioned to be inspired and create illustrations on the theme of #BridgingAndBelonging.

But what exactly does "Bridging or Belonging" mean?
"Bridging" means creating connections between disparate individuals or groups while developing a greater inner awareness. It reminds us that we are connected to each other and should build a sense of WE. "Belonging means belonging, which has to do with place, identity and safety, among other things. Belonging means being respected at a fundamental level and having the right to both co-create and make demands on society.
